This non-threaded end pin jack has screws on the outside, so you can solder on your wires, push the jack into the hole, and then attach the jack to your instrument. We measured the diameter of this pickup, and found it to be.465 inches, so we would recommend a.5" (1/2") hole for installation.

Our molded Delrin mountain dulcimer bridge/nut pieces are brown colored and fit our pre-slotted fingerboards, or any fingerboard with 1/8" wide bridge/nut slots. The grooves molded into the top edge of our bridge/nut pieces are appropriate for both three and four-string dulcimers. These bridge/nut pieces are 1/8" thick, 3/8" high and 1 1/2" wide. The second photo above (with three blue diagrams) shows some of the different ways that you can set up our Delrin nut and bridge pieces. In our diagrams, the small circles above the string slots represent the strings.

This is the best endpin jack available today. We use this one on nearly all of our Folkcraft and FolkRoots dulcimers, as well as on our Druid Moon ukuleles. Switchcraft endpin jacks require a threaded hole for installation (we sell the required tap separately). After soldering the pickup wires to the jack, you then screw the jack into the threaded hole in the end of your instrument - no visible screws, and a great look. (And Switchcraft quality, so reliability won't be an issue down the road!) Technical specifications: Required hole size (before tapping for threads): 1/2" Tap size (use the tap after the 1/2" hole is drilled): 9/16" - 12 Number of conductors: 3 (you can use either two or three, depending on your pickup) Wiring hookup: There are three soldering lugs. Use the silver-colored lug on the outside for your ground connection. (the braided wire on the L.R. Baggs pickups that we sell). Use the smallest (copper colored, center) wire for your "active" or "hot" connection. (the inside wire on our Baggs pickups). If your pickup has a balanced output, you'll still solder the ground on the outside (silver colored) lug, but you'll use both of the center (copper colored) lugs for your pickup output wires. If you are trying to visualize/correlate the three soldering lugs to a 1/4" guitar cord, the "tip" of the cord is the shortest lug, and the "sleeve" of the cord is the longest lug. If you're using a 3 conductor (stereo) cable, the "tip" is the shortest lug, the "ring" is the medium-length lug, and the "sleeve" is the longest lug.
