Not gear
Software and services
Everything in the catalogue is a physical thing with a price, a condition and at least one seller to measure it against. These two are neither, so they sit here instead of in the search grid, where a plugin licence would turn up in a filter for gear under $200 with local pickup.
We earn a commission on both, and they are the only pages on this site that exist because of that. Nothing about them touches how listings are ranked, because neither has a listing.
Software instruments and effects
Martinic Audio
Software recreations of instruments almost nobody can still buy
Martinic build software versions of specific vintage keyboards, organs and effects: not a synth that sounds vaguely like the era, but a model of one particular instrument, down to the behaviour that makes it recognisable. The originals are the kind of thing that turns up once a year in a listing on this very site, usually needing work.
Artist services, not gear
DistroKid
Getting the record you made onto the services people listen on
DistroKid puts your music on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, TikTok and the rest of the services people actually use, for a flat yearly fee rather than a cut of what you earn. You keep your royalties; they keep the subscription.
